[2024/05/02 14:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: Things happening for Leesha & Dahlia include trying to get an officers' attention, trying to convince them to listen and take this seriously, going over things in minute detail, going over things again... in more minute detail...
[2024/05/02 14:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: You're with the two guys - the guy who bumped into you, and the noble guy - deep underground. What do you plan saying?
[2024/05/02 14:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "So, you've gone to a lot of trouble to get into a room with me," she starts off.
[2024/05/02 14:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: "You're not our type, toots... now come on, we got a bit of a hike."
[2024/05/02 15:00] Sonja Bikergrrl: There are indeed passages, cellars, basements, at one point even an underground river - it seems to be deliberately long and circuituous, even your dwarven underground senses get disorientated, but fairly soon, it's less "underground sewer" and more "underground chambers".
[2024/05/02 15:01] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Humph," she ennunciates, though if they're leading her out of the jail its either really good or really bad. She does make a point to inspect the stonework to get her bearings... as well as estimating the age of these works.
[2024/05/02 15:03] Sonja Bikergrrl: The various levels are various ages and styles (and types, even...). Finally, a clearly secure underground chamber, with large double doors, behind which some steady drumming can be heard. A pair of rather vicious-looking orcs stand menacingly either side of the doors.
[2024/05/02 15:04] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: various, eh? what kinda range? She will also be fiddling with her manacles to try to get out of them anytime the Chums aren't watching her closely.
[2024/05/02 15:04] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Huh, you two ever met a Leesha?"
[2024/05/02 15:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: Everything from packed dirt to thousand year old masonry to modern stonework.
[2024/05/02 15:05] Sonja Bikergrrl: The orcs just glower at you.
[2024/05/02 15:06] Sonja Bikergrrl: The two guys open the doors, and beyond - a small office. A frail-looking guy, kinda lanky and lean, sits at a desk, drumming on a pair of bongos, a pair of circular rimmed spectacles perched on his nose. He makes no notice as you all walk in. You notice in the corners of the room, more orcs, standing looking menacing, and trying to be discrete.
[2024/05/02 15:08] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: More meaning about 4 of them? She decides that the spectacled man is the important one, being wealthy enough to afford glass made to corrective precision.
[2024/05/02 15:08] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: How good is his bongo'ing?
[2024/05/02 15:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: Middling. Bonga-bonga-bonga-bonga-bonga-bonga-bonga-bonga-bonga-bonga....
[2024/05/02 15:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guy with the bongos pauses and looks up. "Tell me, why is Debben manacled? Is that how Frendz meet and talk? Unmanacle her, you know better than that!"
[2024/05/02 15:10] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guy that bumped into you quickly unmanacles you, and the two slip back outside, closing the doors. The man takes up the drums and starts playing again... bonga-bonga-bonga... bonga-bonga-bonga... bonga-bonga-bonga...
[2024/05/02 15:12] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Huh. The polite treatment. She holds her manacles up, rubbing her wrists, and eyeing the rest of the room. Particularly the art and decorations they keep down here, followed by possible exits.
[2024/05/02 15:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: The man finally puts the bongos down and looks at you, as if only just noticing you. "Ah. Debben. So good to see you again... tell me... anything you'd care to explain...?"
[2024/05/02 15:16] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "I'd honestly been hoping to track down some explanations myself. The past several weeks of mine have been chaotic and confusing, featuring, well, more than a handful of people trying to put a knife in my ribs. Thank you for refraining, as it happens."
[2024/05/02 15:18] Sonja Bikergrrl: The man sighs. "Frendz don't manacle each other, and Frendz don't -stab- each other, either! From where are you getting these notions, Debben?"
[2024/05/02 15:23] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Let's see. Three weeks or so ago, my friend and I were trying to gather some provisions from the market for a trip out of town, a man in dark clothing pops out of the crowd and puts a short sword into my thighs without even taking me to dinner first and then the guards have the gall to get offended at us when we defend ourselves with our own weapons. On two or three occasions in the woods I've had attempts on my life by people -specifically- out for me. Even Just today, a group attacked my ally and then we got attacked by a bounty hunter while attempting to get food at the inn! So! I would say I get these notions from the arcane power of pattern recognition." Her voice may have been building up rather a while. "So when your men come trying to haul us into one of the poorest lit taverns I have seen while carrying several naked blades, I was put rather on edge."
[2024/05/02 15:27] Sonja Bikergrrl: Bongos: "That'll explain -these-..." He slides a few bounty notices on the desk... "...it's up to 250 gold pieces. Just who did you annoy? And look at it from our point of view... we met a dwarf, all cold and lonely and cast out, we bring her in and look after her, teach her the crafts, we set up a heist and... you don't show up! But you appear in the Kings' court, no less, in a shower of light and magic. And then these bounty notices start appearing... you haven't gone and turned Kings Evidence on us, have you...?"
[2024/05/02 15:30] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Oh, the kings court. I still don't rightly know what all that is about. The mage who did it messed with my memories and then started rambling on about time travel of some form. The king wasn't very impressed with his explanation either." She rubs her chin. "....he's probably still in the castle dungeons, for that matter. But no, the crown has no awareness about the heist because I was too staggered to remember enough about it to tell them anything."
[2024/05/02 15:30] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Did you go on without me or is the heist still in limbo?"
[2024/05/02 15:32] Sonja Bikergrrl: Bongos: "That was months ago. Don't worry about it now. But now you're back in town, well. Some of our members are muttering about your committment to the Frendz. They might need a little show of loyalty... nothing big, I assure you. Just a little token that Frendz are forever friends."
[2024/05/02 15:34] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: She eyes him warily. This timeline isn't matching up for her. "Months ago, you say."
[2024/05/02 15:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Months. Bear in mind you've been... all over the place. Indeed only today I was figuring it's about time to add a year to everyones' ages.)
[2024/05/02 15:35] Sonja Bikergrrl: (you fought necromancers, saved villages, raided towers, dispelled evils, gone on pilgrimages... I'd say months is accurate)

[2024/05/02 15:37] Sonja Bikergrrl: (Game time? I'd argue six months ish. Real time? this is out third year? or getting close!)
[2024/05/02 15:38] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "You have my ear at the least. What sort of token do you have in mind?"
[2024/05/02 15:40] Sonja Bikergrrl: Bongos looks at you. "I'd hope we got your heart too... no conscripts in the Frendz. There's another little heist going down, meet in the Bargewright Inn, two days from now, after midnight. They need a look-out, just make sure no one gets nosy and it'll go off smoothly."
[2024/05/02 15:42] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Does Debben already know which one is the bargewright?
[2024/05/02 15:42] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Lookout seems alright. And if someone does get nosy lead them off in the wrong direction, I take it?"
[2024/05/02 15:42] Sonja Bikergrrl: It's the inn at the docks where you first encountered the Frendz
[2024/05/02 15:43] Sonja Bikergrrl: Bongos nods. "Lead them off, shoo them off, scare them off... whatever. No one needs to get hurt. There's a small figurine the lads are lifting, client wants it bad. There'll be a hundred gold in it for you."
[2024/05/02 15:45] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Hundred gold for lookout work seems pretty reasonable, all told. "Alright, I've been away for a while, but I can help out here."
[2024/05/02 15:46] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Not like they're gonna let her simply leave if she tries to decline.
[2024/05/02 15:47] Sonja Bikergrrl: Bongos: "Well talk to your Frendz... we're family, right? Anything you need, the barkeep at the Bargewright Inn is your man."
[2024/05/02 15:48] Sonja Bikergrrl: Bongos takes up his bongos again. "It's good to see you back, alive and well, even if you do seem a little addled, Debben." He starts drumming again... bonga-bonga-bonga... bonga-bonga-bonga...
[2024/05/02 15:49] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Mmmhmmm" she says agreeably, even if the name of the gang -still- annoys her.
[2024/05/02 15:49] Sonja Bikergrrl: The two guys from before come in. "Debben, no hard feelings, right? Shall we get back to what we were all doing?"

[2024/05/02 15:55] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guy harumphs and gestures to follow. "How was we to know you weren't on the straight and narrow, suddenly?"
[2024/05/02 15:56] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Did this guy ever give me his name?
[2024/05/02 15:57] Sonja Bikergrrl: No, not yet.
[2024/05/02 15:58] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Other than the magical light show and me getting chased out of town several times?"
[2024/05/02 15:58] Sonja Bikergrrl: "Exactly. Appearing in the Kings' court and talking to guards."
[2024/05/02 16:01] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: "Hated every hour of it," she laments. "Nicest guy in there was the court wizard and he can barely remember what day of the week it is."
[2024/05/02 16:04] Sonja Bikergrrl: The guy snorts with laughter. "Yep, that's Ridcully...me sister works as a maid in the palace. Has a thing for apple pies, was obsessed with 'em." They pause at a spiral staircase going up. "Here we up. Up you go, takes you to a small cellar, there's a trapdoor and you're in a fruit shop near one of the city guards' barracks. Your friends are there, I think."
[2024/05/02 16:06] Alicia Frakture: That's what I am telling you. She was ran into by some guy who kept patting her down to "See if she was okay." he probably dropped it on her.
[2024/05/02 16:06] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Ah, the ones selling fruit for a quarter gold each. "Thanks. Sounds like I can make my way up from here."
[2024/05/02 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: Guard Sergant: "Only one thing. Lord De La Rue is ninety, if he's a day. This story ain't adding up... lady."
[2024/05/02 16:07] Sonja Bikergrrl: The two guys look surprised. "Fruit for... a copper buys you a handful!"
[2024/05/02 16:09] Alicia Frakture: Not De La Soul. UNtil he made the accusation none of had seen him before. there was another guy who did it before De La croix had even appeared.
[2024/05/02 16:09] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sergent: "I'll say it one more time. Accusing a noble is a serious matter... are you sure you want to do this?"
[2024/05/02 16:10] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Hmmmm, they're still talking with a guard... might need to link up with the partners at a later time before the guards start asking when debben got let out of jail....
[2024/05/02 16:13] Alicia Frakture: I'm not accusing him of anything except making a mistake as to the true thief. *Small pause to breathe and make sure her temper stays calm* Look someone ran into Debben. He patted her down after they both fell. He took off and the Lord delicious made the accusation. he may have been with the streets of people he didn't know... Why, Since I've repeated that I don't want to accuse him you keep saying I do."
[2024/05/02 16:13] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sergeant: "Alright, I'll make a note of it and look into it!"
[2024/05/02 16:15] Alicia Frakture: thank you, now how do we go about getting our friend released?
[2024/05/02 16:16] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sergeant: "I told you, I'll look into it... and I'll ask Lord De La Rue about it, and talk to the guards and -then- we'll see who's guilty of what."
[2024/05/02 16:17] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Well, if the fruit sellers are offering a handful of fruit for a copper, she might as well make that trade, doing so quietly while peoples eyes aren't on her.
[2024/05/02 16:17] Alicia Frakture: *Would it be a constitution check to keep from growling agrilly at him?*

[2024/05/02 16:20] Alicia Frakture: Leesha slams her fist on the desk growling angrilly. Not flying into a rage but her temper is very VERY evident.
[2024/05/02 16:20] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sergeant: "Constable Truthhammer take this... lady... out of here, before I change my mind and sling her in a cell!"
[2024/05/02 16:22] Alicia Frakture: Leesha just glares at him."No need, I'll go on my own." She nods to Dahlia."Let's get out of here."
[2024/05/02 16:23] Sonja Bikergrrl: Sergeant sits down with his head in his hands. "By the gods... why my district?"
[2024/05/02 16:24] Alicia Frakture: AS the door closes behind her Leesha yells back."Just lucky I guess!"
[2024/05/02 16:25] Sonja Bikergrrl: I'll take it you're all heading back home, since it's getting late in the day?
[2024/05/02 16:25] MidnightMinion Cyberstar: Debben will let the yelling die down before making her way over to Leesha, taking a bite of non-specific fruit. "So. how much is the lawyer gonna cost us?"
